Bandwidth and the All in One Video Pack.

Hello,

New here and I love this plugin for my web site (hence name with the .com added).

My site is NEW (August 17th, 2008) complaint site where folks can vent their frustration - very therapeutic. I want registered members to have the ability to upload video complaints, audio and also written complaints about anything and anyone. LOL The next YouTube of video complaints. ;)

1) How many seconds (minutes) can a video be? Right now I seem to be cut off at 21 seconds.
2) How can I purchase more bandwidth? 5 gigs is ok - for now, but I know once this takes off (and we expect it to) I'll need more or resort to a different CMS.
3) How large can a video be?
4) Where can I located how much space I have used?

Thanks,

Hi there,
Thanks for the feedback. Regarding your questions:

1. It was a bug - just fixed it... so it should work now, you can upload clips up to 200MB and there's no limit on the duration of recordings.
2. In order to get more bandwith, you may contact Linda from our Business development department - contact us and they will be happy to assist.
3. A video can be up to 200MB - but there is no limit on the number of videos you can upload. Afterwards, you can edit them together using the editor.
4. This feature will be part of our new CMS (to be released in the coming weeks). In the meantime, Kaltura keeps track for you.

Thanks for the reply and again - I can't wait for the CMS.

Just so I understand and there's no miscommunication - there's NO limit on the size of the video or the amount of videos? So, to me that says there's no limit on bandwidth.

Thanks

There's no limit on the amount of videos. Of course that a very large amount of videos may slow things down.

Sorry, I have more questions about this great plugin.

1) Is it compatible with all browsers?
2) Just so I have this straight - videos are hosted on your server?
3) When do you expect the free version to be out?

1. The plugin was tested on FireFox (2.1 and up) and IE (6 and up).
2. Yes, all contributed data is stored on the Kaltura servers and distributed using our cdn.
3. The clinets are avaiiable for download from the Kaltura sourceforge project page. The community edition of the server is expected to be released by end of this year, but there's no hard date yet.
