bulk import kaltura to drupal only imported dozen of 2000 items

after installation of the drupal module i used the one time bulk sync to try and create nodes for all media items in the kaltura account (about 2000 items). Only one items was reported as imported.
there are 12 listed in the content management list now, all uploaded to kaltura after my drupal setup, so the ongoing sync seems to be working.
