Cannot access Kaltura Administration Console

I have installed KalturaCE v2.02 on Ubuntu 10.04 server (vmware virtual machine on vmserver) I set up lamp server, held php5 at 5.2x and have intalled all modules required. Installation seems to run ok - no errors and I get to final screen indicating that all is ok. I can then access the start page through browser, however when I try to link to Administration Console I am directed to web page showing Index of /admin_console and not the console itself. Similar problem when I try to link to other pages. Any ideas of what problem might be. I have tried for days to get further after many fresh installs I am frustrated. Any help welcome.
