There is no Kaltura plug-in for Joomla yet, so I'm trying to embed the player directly in the article (Joomla terminology for content items). However, Joomla 1.5 blocks scripts in articles and deletes them. The general solution is to use a video plug-in. I use All Videos Reloaded which is very popular (and free).
AVR has a list of known video sites, but unfortunately, Kaltura is not one of them.
There is a posibillity to manually add a new player.
Apparently, adding a new player to AVR Media is not trivial. Can anyone help?
By the way, I suggest Kaltura contacts AVR developer, so he would add kaltura to his basic list (brightcove is there already...)

Thank you for posting this, its is extremely helpful.
the Joomla extension is under development and will be released soon.
This is happening because the editor filters the content. To fix this:
GO TO
Content -> Article Manager -> Parameters (up-right near help)
Scroll down to filtering options, select only the Public Front End stuff, leave Blacklist checked under the box.
Scroll up and save.
You should be able to embed.
It worked for me.
