Hello there,
I'm hoping to get pointers on how to enable the Fall Forward feature that's described on the project page for users of iphone/ipad/smart phones on our site. We've got an account and use the Kaltura's Management Console to manage and pull the embedded code for players and individual videos. We also already upload the videos in the mobile flavors we want, but simply inserting the script include for the library in the header as described didn't work, so any help on next steps would be great!
Thanks very much in advance,
Tony
Hello tsemana,
I have the very same problem at my end. I included the script file as mentioned on the instructions, but it still does not play on the iOS environments. Were you able to resolve this?
Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks!!
currently, the easiest way to have html5 video codecs turned on your SaaS account is to make the request through the Kaltura sales team. Once you are in contact with a sales representative tell them what you need the html5 codecs for and they may be able to turn them on for you.
there is a more difficult option that astute googlers of this forum may try to manually add the html5 flavors to your account, but it requires advanced knowledge of the api testme console... I have never manually turned on html5 flavors because attempting to do so and failing may damage your account. if I were to try adding the flavors without the assistance of the sales team--I would set up a dummy account and try to add the appropriate flavors through the test me console on an account that I do not depend upon.
I have intentionally left the link to the aforementioned forum topic out of this reply because that forum topic is written to address adding flavors to KalturaCE, and I cannot guarantee that the method described will work on Kaltura SaaS.

the forum topic drew is referring to was written by me, and i can confirm that i have not tested this procedure with kaltura SaaS version. works fine with kalturace v2.0 though
oh, and i should add that if you do use this method with kalturace, it will not work until the appropriate mwconfig javascript variables are set to work with your server, and not kaltura.com
I just got the demo Kaltura account set up, and I am also interested in how to proceed. I've uploaded a few videos, saved them in the various flavors, but when I go to embed them, I cannot view them in the iphone/ipad. I thought that the embed codes had all versions of the videos represented. Do I have to upload a non Flash based player into kaltura in addition to adding the javascript?
