file uploader not converting

I'm a little confused on the management console.

I was able to upload 2 .mov files without issues, but neither is converting the file to flv format.

The first one I left 'commercial' and the second I changed to 'non-commercial'

The only way I know they are still mov files is that I created a player with a download link. When I click on that link quicktime opens for me instead of the flv player.

What do I need to change so that when I upload my .mov files they are converted to flv?

thanks

actually it does seem to convert the video's to flv.

It's only when a person clicks download that they end up with the original format from what I can see. I am able to use 'capture' programs to get the flv from the player itself.... kinda backwards, but hey it works

Hi,

The idea is that the Download button provides the original format of the file instead of a web optimized one (the flv). This is why when you click Download you get mov.

The files are converted to FLV so it will be playable on the web using Flash.
