Announcing the Winners of Kaltura's 'Frenzy' Developer Challenge: Five New Open Source Video Applications Created.

We'd like to thank everyone who participated in the challenges - we're incredibly pleased to have received such a great response from the community!

Five new video applications - for Alfresco, BuddyPress, Elgg, TikiWiki and Google Wave – have been developed, further extending Kaltura's open source video framework and affirming the fact that the industry is ready and in need of an open source platform for online media management and collaboration.

The new applications will be presented by the developers who created them on an upcoming Kaltura Inspire Webinar – stay tuned!

The Frenzy Challenges - Background

As part of the public launch of Kaltura Community Edition and the Kaltura.org community website, we’re calling existing members of the community and new developers to take part in a cool contest and win some fun prizes!

We’re looking forward to seeing just how far we can push the envelope in Open Sourcing Video. Take a look at the details, and choose the best challenge for you. And of course, don’t forget to tell all of your friends about it!

Kaltura Developer Challenges: Let the fun begin!

  • Challenge I - KalturaCE Deployment, Community Choice Challenge

    Integrate Video Capabilities using KalturaCE, Kaltura’s self-hosted video platform. Show us your KalturaCE deployment, promote it everywhere and get the community to vote for it – the winner gets an iPhone 3GS! Tell us what you do with Kaltura, and don’t forget to include screenshots!

  • Challenge II - Create a Kaltura extension/module/plugin for a common CMS

    Create a Kaltura-based extension for a common CMS (e.g. phpbb, Plone, Buddypress, Blackboard, Movable Type, Alfresco, etc.) and get a cash prize!

  • Challenge III - Freestyle it! Impress us with your skills!

    Freestyle it! Impress us with your skills! Develop a cool Interactive Video Application that uses the Kaltura Platform, and you could win a Wii.
