Hi everyone,

Not sure if this is the right forum but I am the Product Manager for HDCloud.com, a cloud-based video transcoding service. We are in the process of building a plugin that will work with Kaltura that will allow users to use our cloud-based system for transcoding videos to multiple formats.
You can find more information about HD Cloud in general at http://hdcloud.com.
Please visit our project page, and I would very much like any ideas or feature requests for this plugin.

A few questions that can help:

  • Where is Kaltura lacking in video transcoding right now?
  • What formats of video are you interested in?
  • Are you interested in a cloud-service like this that separates out your transcoding needs from your own hardware or software solution?

A little more about HD Cloud: Using a cloud-based infrastructure we offer massive scalability and rapid transcoding a a great cost savings. Our system is used by UGC sites, large media companies, post-production firms, and even small websites. Whether you need a huge library of content converted, a consistent stream of video transcoding, or just want HD Cloud as a "backup plan" we offer great packages at an affordable price.

Hi,

Can this project flatten mixes in Kaltura and then encode/transcode?

If so, that would be great. Let us know.

thx.

Hi I am wondering what the status of this plugin might be. There doesn't seem to be any code in the SVN repo for this plugin. Is there a timeline, or any activity going on on this project?

Cheers.
