Inserting advertisements before/after playing videos

Hi kalturs-aliens,
I wonder if you have ever thought about implementing something like advertisements inside your video player.
I don't know if this is either a client feature or a server feature, but other players like http://www.longtailvideo.com/players/jw-flv-player/ supports inserting ads.

I'm just thinking out loud now, but you could probably also do this by dynamically creating a new remix prior to loading content into the player. For example, when a user requests a video, you could write a function that creates a new remix with a "ad" video at the start, then the proper video, then another "ad" video at the end. In fact, you could actually create pre-roll, post roll and even overlays using the current API and a little bit of lateral thinking...

That's true Chris,
However, we do have this feature by the KDP, the next release (which is due in a few weeks) will provide an easy method of integrating to the KDP to create pre-rolls, mid-rolls, post-rolls, overlays and such.
Till the next version you can use the ads integration through the application studio on kaltura.com/kmc .

Thank you for your idea, but the problem that I see with your solution is that you must keep the ads inside KalturaCE server.
I have never used an ads service, but I suppose that they will give you an URL which returns the ad, and they will count the number of clicks and give you statistics and stuff like that.
@Kalturian:
Is it possible to substitute the current KDP that comes with KalturaCE with the new version?
(I think that I am using /var/www/html/kalturaCE/content/uiconf/kaltura/drupal/kdp_1.1.11/...)
Or will I have to wait till you release the next KalturaCE server version?

The next release will be using the new KDP as well (which hasn't been released yet as-well), so I would wait - it will be released soon.

We have now a hostetd package withe the kaltura oem Version. Hostet by Nacamar Germany.
My Question is, can i add some pre-roll video ads, from the same Server. Or only by Third party Adservers?
Example: I have a Video entryId 0_xxxyyy. And now, i wanna play this entry as Ad before every videomix.

As tempting as this solution may sound I don't think we're allowed to display advertisements on players. Besides, why would we need to do that when there are countless ways of displaying advertisements all around the internet. Take a publisher network for example.
