Kaltura Moodle plugin as language lab?

Hi!

I see that the Moodle plugin for Kaltura is relatively new, but it seems pretty exciting for us. I my are (foreign languages) we could seriously consider using this as an integrative language lab with our Moodle CMS. Is there a dev roadmap for future features planned?

I can see that you can submit Kaltura videos via webcam (awesome!) to Moodle assignments. Can you also return feedback via video?

Also, one feature that we would LOVE would be the ability to insert comments in the middle of student videos. Is that kind of thing possible with the Kaltura video editor?

Any suggestions or ideas are very welcome. I've only found this tool on Tuesday and am very excited about it!

Carly,
we are definetly planning future versions.
both assignments and feedback can be posted via video.
as for annotations - these can be added using the editor.
I am looking forward to seperating the annotation module, outside of editor (either by Kaltura/ community). I can see how it would add a lot of value.

Michal,

Thank you for the response! I'll look forward to more information as it becomes available. On the test instance, I was not able to see how to submit video in feedback to assignments. Could you give me a hint about how to do that? I'd like to show this to a few of my faculty.

Thank you for all of your work on this project!

Michal,
A seperate annotation module outside of the editor would be very valuable indeed!
A big video library is being set up here at UCSD for research purposes and I know several universities are setting up similar projects.
Annotations would be a great way to make these archives more practical and accessible.
Can you tell me if any others within the Kaltura community are interested and/or involved in creating such a module?
