KCW Webcam Record Question

Hello,
Server 1 - Windows 2008 w/ Flash Interactive Media Server
Server 2 - Ubuntu w/ Kaltura CE
I want to enable the KCW webcam feature but I cannot find any documentation about connecting FMS and Kaltura when they are separate servers? The only docs mention a symbolic directory link and I don't think that would work on separate servers.
Am I just stuck or is this integration possible?
My goal is to get KalturaCE and Joomla working together with the webcam recording for quick announcements on our k-12 school district website. I might just have to try putting Joomla/KalturaCE/Red5 on the same server if this is not possible. I really wanted to use the FMS server though.
Any thoughts on this?

I installed red5 on the same server and did the steps outlined to get the webcam recorder working. It would record, playback, and copy a "fixed" flv file to the kalturace/content/webcam folder.
Unfortunately the fixed.flv file is Zero k in size. What gives?
Does anyone have the webcam option working for the KCW and kalturaCE?
