Media node pops up wizard, not media mix

It's all in the title. I have installed kalturaCE under xampp1.7.1's htdocs folder without problems. Did everything by the (e-)book, all checkmarks green except for memcache and mail server. The server runs fine. Fresh pressflow (drupal6.14) install+views+jquery+cck. Server integration: four green checkmarks. All modules up to date. Dashboard: everything checked in green.
That's when I should have gone to bed but I couldn't help testing... The media node works fine but the media mix wizard doesn't show up no matter how many times I hit next ;-). So I'm sitting back in my chair considering it's been over a month since I started learning drupal and kaltura with the ultimate goal of enabeling voiceover on videos (by means of KAE that is ;-) since I'm building up a news website.
Will anyone help me wipe that sorry smile off my face?
