From the wiki page:
The wizard supports multiple file uploads, webcam and microphone recording and importing media from external sources (e.g. YouTube, Flickr, etc.).
I could be reading that wrong, but it sounds like the CW allows you to record audio and video, or just audio, from the user's computer. I can't figure out how to turn on an audio-only recorder, though... is this possible? Am I just reading things wrong?
Thanks,
-Brian
That's cool, except that from what I can tell it's not actually possible to record a webcam-less audio stream. If you don't have a webcam installed then you can't get past the "select webcam" dropdown to even start recording.
I've directed my users to install the Google Video & Chat plugin for GMail since that will add a webcam option to the list even if the user has no webcams installed, but that's pretty hackish.
Is there not a way to say, for example, "I don't have a webcam, I'll just record audio"?

Not yet - but it's a great feature request. Thanks!
How hard would it be to get this rolled into the standard KCW tool? It's kind of an important thing for me right now...
Hi,
There is no specific view for AUDIO ONLY functionality. the wizard is able to record audio only, however using the webcam view in case the user doesn't have a webcam but does has microphone.
