MP3 uploading issues

Basically, I am having problems with uploading MP3's into Kaltura CE 1.5 on Windows 2003. I am running xampp 1.7.1. Whenever I upload an MP3, the upload batch process crashes and I have to restart apache to get back into the management console. This seems to also happen with video files that have conversion problems, but always with MP3's. Uploading MP3's would be very important for me as I work for a school and they have projects that would make uploading MP3's a valuable asset.
