Respecting Drupal content permissions in KMC

I wasn't sure if this was a feature request someone made or a bug, which is why I'm posting in the "Other" category.

I currently have Kaltura CE installed on the same server as Drupal, and have the plugin successfully integrating the two to create Kaltura media nodes in Drupal.

However, what I've noticed in the out-of-the-box experience is that there is no concept of synchronizing/maintaining node access permissions on linked content in Kaltura. In other words, any user who has access to create a media node in Drupal can browse all content on Kaltura, regardless of who added it or whether or not that person should be able to view it.

Does this make sense? Am I correct that Kaltura doesn't have its own permission scheme to mirror permissions in Drupal?
