Hi there,

maybe it's a silly question. But it is possible to set the kaltura player to read from a red5 streaming server instead of the raw files?

Thx,

Hi Pedro,

Not a silly a question at all, but a very good one :)

Currently streaming is not built-in, you can modify the code pretty easily if you download the KDP project, and the CVF library (this library handles the video and kaltura related features).

Streaming will be out-of-the-box in a later version if you'd like to wait.

I too am very interested in this feature. When you say "Streaming will be out-of-the-box in a later version", do you have any idea when that later version will be?

Streaming isn't critical for me, most of my users don't even understand it anyways, but it does save us from eating up unnecessary bandwidth on longer videos, and it lets users jump around on our longer videos.

Also, if one decided to modify the code, is there any guidance on doing this?

Thanks,
Dave
