Uploading files using the All in One Video Pack.

I'm on Dreamhost using Wordpress 2.6.5, theme WP-Andreas09 1.6 by Andreas Viklund and Ainslie Johnson with slight modifications by myself [I know enough to be dangerous!], running under Windows XP SP3 with a broadband connection.

After a few problems installing the Kaltura plug-in (mainly to do with Winzip not properly unpacking the zip file on my system) I've got that up and running and can upload photographs and videos - only .avi files so far since my .mov files totally hang [probably size].

However I cannot locate any function to edit the video file when I get it up.

What have I missed?

Hi,

You should see a "remix" button - next to the add media button. Pressing on this button will direct you to the editor.

I'm looking at the write screen of Wordpress - if not which one should I be.

On that screen, beside the text 'Add media:' I have five buttons Add an image, Add video, Add Audio, Add media and Add Interactive Video. No remix!

After you add the content you want, go to the 'manage' tab. There you'll see an 'all in one library' tab, and when you click on it - the videos gallery opens. Spot your video and click on the edit icon, which will take you straight to the editor.

I see - you should first add the video, then go to the 'manage' tab, and there to the 'all in one library' tab. There you'll see all the videos added to your blog - and you'll have an editing icon next to each one of them, that will direct you to the editor.

Oh dear!!!

There was nothing showing under the 'All in One Library Tab'. The avi file was showing under the 'Media Library Tab' - I deleted that one.

Went back to basics and under the write page clicked on 'Add Interactive Video' , used the browse to select the avi file and then clicked on upload. It went to the uploading page, the bar went directly to 100% and the clock just keeps spinning on. No sign of it ever stopping!

Additionally (and not sure how significant these are)

1. I did manage to load six still photographs via 'add interactive video' and these went OK and were converted to a video slide show which I could edit.

2. Using 'add an image' the flash version doesn't work and I have to select the files using the browser version to upload.

Can you please send a link to the post, so we can check it out?
Also - did you try uploading other files? Maybe there's a problem with that specific file.

http://www.anhonestman.net/wp-admin/pos ... &post=1360 - which was the upload done via the add media link. This is still at draft level so I don't know if you can access. Obviously I can't post the link for the add interactive video since it won't complete.

"add an image" and "add media" are wordpress build in functionality.
To upload videos using the all in one video pack, you should use "Add Interactive Video" button

Roman - if you noticed, trying to use add interactive video left me with no completion of the upload. That is the problem.

Does it happen with other files (and other formats) as well?

I've also just tried to load, separately, two .avi files {1.41 and 1.81Mb} and two .mov files {15.4 and 21.6Mb} and in each case the upload went to 100% and then did nothing for more than 30 mins.

Roman - to go back to the beginning:

I'm on Dreamhost using Wordpress 2.6.5, theme WP-Andreas09 1.6 by Andreas Viklund and Ainslie Johnson with slight modifications by myself [I know enough to be dangerous!], running under Windows XP SP3 with a broadband connection.

When I write my blog, I have on the top line an add media option with the following possibilities: ; ; ; ; .

I can upload my .avi file using the "Add video" link: I cannot add it using the "Add Interactive Video" link - it never completes.

I can upload .jpg files using the "Add Interactive Video" link and it will create a video slideshow.

Ok, got that now.

If you can't use the wordpress flash upload it mean you have some problem uploading files using flash.
Our uploader in build in flash too.

Do you have some firewall that might block flash uploads?

What version of flash do you have? you can check it here: www.playerversion.com

My Flash Player version is WIN 10,0,12,36 - the latest. My browser is Gecko engine (Mozilla, Netscape 6+ etc.) on the Windows platform.

I'm using Kaspersky Internet Security 8.0.0.454 - I can't find any block, but I'll check it again after the weekend since I'm still not totally up to speed with everything it is doing!

Can you a try another browser? IE, for example, which uses flash differently.

IE7 loaded .avi file correctly. Firefox still isn't.

I have tried multiple versions of wordpress and the kaltura plugin, However when I try to insert an interactive video into a blog the user interface that comes up to do it has the headers "add interactive video" and "browse interactive video". The add option is completely blank with no option to do anything, the browse option says no interactive videos created.

What versions of wordpress and the kaltura plugin definately work together, and has anyone had this problem before.

Hi,

The plugin definitely works in WordPress 2.5 - 2.7.1. It should work on higher versions as well, but hasn't been tested.
