Use Existing Videos in Remix

Hi,

I'm working with Drupal (6.16) and the Kaltura plugin, and have gotten the Advanced Editor in place. Trouble is, when in 'remix' mode, I would like to add videos which are already part of the repository, but am only given the option to upload new videos from my desktop through the 'browse' dialog.

Perhaps I'm missing a part of understanding of the UI - should it not be possible to use existing videos with a new Remix?

Also - when creating a new remix, it insists that I upload a new video - would like to find a way to skip this step so as to make use of already-uploaded videos in the system if that is the user's need.

Thanks for any guidance on these topics!

Hi Charlie,

Have a look at this documentation and see if it answers your questions:

http://www.kaltura.org/how-pre-populate-your-editor-content

I've been away from Kaltura for a while now, but last time I checked in to this site, all the information on that page was still relevant.

Hope this helps!

Best Regards, Chris!

Thanks very much Chris - at first glance it looks very helpful. I'll dig into it right away!

Thanks,

The doc that you referenced was definitely useful, but applies more to a stand-alone homebrewed implementation (which is probably what I should have done in the first place, given the confusion associated with an off-the-shelf CMS...) - but, as such, I'm still floundering on trying to incorporate the code or even methodology into the Kaltura Module for Drupal which describes the behavior of the Advanced Editor.

If anyone has experience with configuring the KAE in the context of Drupal, I guess I need another few hints. Thanks again Chris for a good start to this discussion!

if you login to the KMC, and use the remix option on each of the assets, you can see the that the option for adding from "my content" exisits in the uploader (current version there is 2.1.4), when launched in the editor.

Thanks Michal - I'll give that a look.
